Payer Enrollment Supervisor [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Payer Enrollment Supervisor based in United States.

The Payer Enrollment Supervisor will lead critical enrollment operations that keep healthcare providers active, compliant, and ready to deliver reimbursable care.
You’ll oversee the full payer enrollment lifecycle, from initial applications and revalidations to roster submissions and ongoing payer maintenance.
This role combines hands-on operational leadership with process improvement, team development, and strategic program oversight.
You’ll serve as a subject matter expert on commercial payer requirements and help resolve complex provider and payer issues.
Working across Enrollment, Credentialing, Contracting, Compliance, Revenue Cycle, Billing, and Provider Operations, you’ll ensure data and processes remain aligned.

Accountabilities

• Oversee the end-to-end payer enrollment and maintenance lifecycle for individual and group providers, including initial enrollments, revalidations, re-credentialing-related activities, demographic updates, roster submissions, and other payer requirements.
• Supervise, coach, and support payer enrollment staff through workload management, training, performance oversight, and quality reviews.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on commercial payer enrollment requirements, provider participation standards, and complex enrollment matters, acting as an escalation point for payer, provider, and operational issues.
• Manage ongoing CAQH profile maintenance, including provider demographics, practice information, credentials, attestations, re-attestations, and supporting documentation, while implementing controls for expirations and outstanding updates.
• Monitor applications, payer statuses, rosters, and effective dates to identify delays, discrepancies, and risks that could affect provider participation or billing readiness.
• Communicate directly with commercial payers to clarify requirements, resolve discrepancies, address delays, and escalate complex enrollment matters when necessary.
• Partner cross-functionally with Credentialing, Contracting, Compliance, Legal, Provider Operations, Revenue Cycle, Billing, and other teams to align provider data, contracts, credentialing, enrollment, and billing readiness.
• Maintain complete and accurate enrollment records across provider data and enrollment systems, supporting data integrity, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Develop and continuously improve payer enrollment policies, procedures, workflows, and controls to strengthen consistency, scalability, compliance, and efficiency.
• Track enrollment metrics, turnaround times, application statuses, CAQH maintenance, and other KPIs, using trends and operational insights to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Lead process improvement and automation initiatives designed to reduce processing times, improve accuracy, increase visibility, and enhance the experience of providers and internal stakeholders.
• Stay current on payer requirements, CAQH processes, state and federal regulations, and industry practices, proactively adapting enrollment strategies to changing requirements.

Requirements

• 4+ years of payer enrollment experience within a healthcare organization, medical group, health plan, hospital, CVO, behavioral health organization, or similar environment.
• 2+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity, with demonstrated ability to coach employees, manage accountability, and maintain high standards of quality and timeliness.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Deep working knowledge of commercial payer enrollment processes, provider participation requirements, roster management, revalidations, and related enrollment activities.
• Hands-on familiarity with platforms and systems such as CAQH, NPPES, PECOS, payer portals, credentialing software, and ticketing or workflow systems such as CredentialStream, Salesforce, or Zendesk.
• Strong understanding of the connections between credentialing, contracting, payer enrollment, provider operations, and revenue cycle processes, with a track record of improving and scaling operational workflows.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines while maintaining strong follow-through and sound judgment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, service lines, and leadership levels.
• Demonstrated ability to identify operational gaps, build scalable processes, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ability to handle complex payer and provider escalations professionally, confidentially, and with appropriate judgment.
• A proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
