Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant with significant education and professional experience, you are a key member of the Accounting Team and an active part of EarthSoft Administration, directly supporting all Company business transactions. You lead your team and assist others throughout the Company in implementing best practices to achieve performance expectations following proper Accounting procedures. You are a dutybound employee with significant fiduciary responsibilities; you follow laws, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures and help ensure that the team does likewise to help the Company be successful.

Responsibilities (what you do ):

• Supervise and lead the Accounting Team to help achieve all Company duties and goals.

• Manage Company Accounting systems as the Point of Contact and internal Subject Matter Expert.

• Setup and define Clients, Projects, and Employees within the Accounting software for all Company activities.

• Manage Accounting workflow for processing all Contract and Subcontract activities.

• Manage AR/AP activities, special arrangements, and account collections as required.

• Oversee domestic and international Payroll operations and related reporting requirements.

• Oversee the preparation and processing of Payroll Withholding tax returns for each state as required.

• Oversee the preparation and processing of Unemployment tax returns for each state as required.

• Oversee the preparation and processing of Sales and Use tax returns for each state as required.

• Oversee the preparation and processing of international income and payroll-related filings.

• Prepare Cash Flow Analyses, assist with forecasting and budgeting activities as required.

• Support Executive Team with presentations, reports, audits, negotiations, and initiatives as requested.

• Support Company Managers, Teams, and Employees with Accounting related issues as requested.

• Manage external relationships with Bank, Tax, Regulatory and Accounting Systems personnel.

• Support Accounting Team Best Practices by cross training and performing back-up on tasks as needed.
• Support the well-being of the Pensacola Office and culture with positivity and proactive participation .

• Strong working knowledge of Accounting Systems and Microsoft 365/Office applications

• Strong working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Policies

• Strong working knowledge of Employer Payroll processing requirements

• Strong working knowledge of Contract Services Cost Accounting and Invoicing Practices

• Strong understanding of data management and databases

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar along with 10+ years relevant work experience
