For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including business leaders and executive management, to define and execute the architectural vision aligned with business objectivesDevelop and maintain comprehensive architecture blueprints and technical designs for enterprise-level systems and applicationsLead and coordinate cross-functional teams to implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective technical solutionsTranslate high-level business requirements into detailed, actionable technical specifications and architecture documentsDesign and oversee integration strategies between complex systems, applications, and third-party services to ensure seamless interoperabilityProvide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior architects and development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practicesEvaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance system performance, reliability, and business outcomesAnalyze and optimize system performance, scalability, and security, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks and vulnerabilitiesReview and validate solution designs to ensure they comply with organizational standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirementsConduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address project-related challenges and uncertaintiesCollaborate with project management teams to ensure the timely delivery and successful implementation of architectural solutionsLead the development of Proof of Concepts (POCs) and prototypes to validate design approaches, technologies, and integration methodsMaintain up-to-date and detailed documentation of architectural designs, solutions, and implementation processes for reference and compliance purposesDrive continuous improvement initiatives within the architecture team to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation in solution deliveryYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field8+ years of overall experience working in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, system design, and software development5+ years of experience working with microservices architecture, APIs, RESTful web services, and service-oriented architecture (SOA)2+ years of experience in leading large-scale projects and cross-functional teams in a complex organizational environment2+ years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native architecture principles2+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, healthcare data or with large-scale healthcare applications, understanding of healthcare regulations and standardsExperience working with modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or similar) and software development methodologiesExperience with databases (SQL, NoSQL), data modeling, and application integration technologiesIn-depth knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), design patterns, and industry best practicesPreferred Qualifications:Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automation toolsProven solid Written and Verbal skillsProven ability to assess and make informed decisions on trade-offs between different technologies, design options, and architectural approaches*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter PolicyPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
