The Opportunity This is a hands-on Medical Director position for an experienced veterinarian who wants greater influence over clinical standards, team development and the continued progression of the hospital while maintaining their own general practice caseload. You'll continue practicing across wellness medicine, diagnostics, dentistry and soft tissue surgery while providing medical leadership to the wider veterinary team. Leadership responsibilities will include: Establishing and maintaining high clinical standards Developing and reviewing medical protocols Supporting medical record quality and consistency Overseeing appropriate controlled substance procedures Mentoring and coaching veterinarians Supporting the development of technicians and clinical staff Leading DVM recruitment and participating in candidate interviews Partnering with hospital management on budgeting and inventory Evaluating equipment and clinical resource requirements Monitoring key hospital performance indicators Supporting regulatory and clinical compliance Addressing escalated clinical and client concerns Encouraging strong communication across the hospital Building a positive, collaborative team culture The position provides genuine scope to influence how medicine is delivered while still allowing you to remain closely connected to patients, clients and day-to-day clinical practice.
