Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a HR Generalist based in Somerville, NJ . A background check may be run only after a conditional offer is made, where permitted by law . Position: HR Generalist Position Overview The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting daily human resources operations and fostering a positive employee experience. This position manages a variety of HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and policy implementation. The role collaborates across departments to ensure HR processes align with organizational goals and legal requirements. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding coordination Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and confidential documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements Administer employee benefits programs and assist with payroll processing and coordination Serve as a point of contact for employee relations matters by addressing employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR regulations Coordinate employee training, onboarding, and professional development initiatives Support the implementation and communication of HR policies, procedures, and company culture programs Assist with leave administration, attendance tracking, and timekeeping processes Manage workers’ compensation claims, documentation, and follow-up activities Prepare disciplinary notices, support corrective action procedures, and maintain related records Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws such as FMLA, OSHA, and applicable OSHA standards Support sustainability and supplier responsibility initiatives, including assessments and reporting Coordinate and support social compliance audits and related corrective action plans Required Experience/Skills Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred 2+ years of HR experience preferred Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and ADP preferred Ability to handle confidential information professionally Preferred Experience/Skills Experience with HRIS systems and reporting tools Familiarity with employee engagement and retention strategies Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills Knowledge of compliance audits and corrective action planning Understanding of benefits administration and payroll processes Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus Continuing education in employment law and HR best practices encouraged Training in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives beneficial Coursework in organizational development or labor relations preferred If eligible under the ACA, medical, dental and vision benefits and time off in accordance with local paid sick time laws will be offered. paid holidays a 401(k)-retirement plan life insurance disability coverage an employee assistance program, where applicable overtime shift differentials bonuses commissions or other incentive compensation, where applicable Commitment to Diversity As a woman-owned firm, we value diversity.
