S23 - AI Engineering Manager, Product Engineering Location: San Francisco, CA (On-site) Salary: $250,000-$300,000 Base + Equity About the Role A fast-growing audio AI infrastructure company is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead its Product Engineering team. The business builds the data layer that powers audio AI, and has gone from 3 people to over 50 in under a year, already counting most major tech companies and AI labs as customers off the back of a recent $50M Series B. You'll report directly to the CTO and take ownership of a backend-heavy, research-oriented team, helping shape both the technical direction and the people side as the company scales fast. Key Responsibilities
- Hire, structure and mentor the engineering team while setting a high performance bar
- Scope and ship new products that help researchers work with high-quality audio data
- Build scalable data processing pipelines handling terabytes of audio data daily
- Architect systems built to handle 100x growth in data collection and delivery
- Partner closely with the CTO on technical direction and roadmap execution
- 6+ years of product-focused engineering experience with strong web development fundamentals
- Experience leading engineering teams through rapid growth at a startup or scale-up
- A track record of shipping products from zero to one and scaling them fast
- Comfortable solving ambiguous, unsolved problems with real customer impact
- Former founders or those with 2+ years of engineering management experience are a strong plus
