Location: Spokane, WA
Duration: 13 Weeks – Potential Extension
Schedule: Evening/Night Shift – 4x10 Hours
Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking a fully licensed Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) to provide behavioral health and crisis intervention services within an Adult and Pediatric Emergency Department in an acute-care hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have experience conducting crisis risk assessments for both adult and pediatric patients , along with previous hospital-based behavioral health experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive crisis and behavioral health risk assessments for adult and pediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Assess patients for safety risks, behavioral health concerns, and appropriate level of care.
• Provide crisis intervention, behavioral health support, and appropriate clinical recommendations.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Develop appropriate safety plans and coordinate referrals or follow-up services when indicated.
• Assist with disposition planning and connections to appropriate behavioral health resources.
• Provide age-appropriate and culturally responsive care to patients and families.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, recommendations, and patient outcomes in the Epic EMR .
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and applicable behavioral health regulations.
• May float between units as needed to provide the same behavioral health and crisis assessment services.
• If staffing needs require, may be asked to provide services at another affiliated hospital location in the Spokane area.

Required Qualifications

• Full Washington State LICSW license required.
• Associate-level licenses will not be accepted.
• Candidates licensed as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Independent Clinical Social Worker may be considered based on applicable licensing requirements.
• Demonstrated experience conducting crisis risk assessments for both adults and pediatric patients .
• Previous hospital/acute-care experience required.
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred/required.
• Strong crisis intervention, assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Emergency Department environment.

Schedule & Contract Details

• Contract: 13 weeks with potential extension.
• Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM.
• Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend – Saturday & Sunday.
• On-Call: No on-call requirement.
• Block Scheduling: Not available.
• Floating: May float between units based on operational needs.
• Additional Assignment: If overstaffed, may be asked to work at an affiliated hospital for the same duties.

Compensation

• Travel Gross: $1,800–$1,900/week, based on experience.
• Local Pay: $45–$50/hour, based on experience.
