Laboratory Scientist, Genetic Toxicology (On-site)

Job DescriptionLaboratory Scientist, Genetic ToxicologyWe are seeking a laboratory scientist to join the Genetic Toxicology group within Non-clinical Drug Safety. This individual will be part of a high performing group and primarily responsible for the conduct of in vitro genotoxicity studies in mammalian cells (e.g., in vitro micronucleus), under both screening and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) conditions, in support of drug discovery and development.Primary Responsibilities:-In this role, the scientist will work with mammalian cell cultures or isolated samples from in vivo studies to perform routine and non-routine genetic toxicology assays.-Responsibilities will include maintaining laboratory equipment in accordance with GLP, maintenance of cell cultures, manual microscopic analysis of fixed cells for the presence of micronuclei-The individual will work in close collaboration with other scientists within the genetic toxicology group and other functional areas within Non-clinical Drug Safety.-The individual will have a range of practical laboratory skills required in a cell biology lab and demonstrated expertise in working with in vitro cell cultures.-Experience with in vitro micronucleus assay/chromosome aberration assay would be an advantage along with experience working in accordance with GLP standards .-The individual will be expected to work in a team, be flexible with rapidly changing work assignments/schedules andpriorities, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Education Requirements:Bachelor of Science or MS degree (Biology, Cellular & Molecular biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related sciences) plus at least 3 years of relevant experienceMust-haves:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated laboratory skills in cellular/molecular biology including in vitro cell culture techniques.Preferred experience with Genetic Toxicology assay design and conduct, such as in vitro micronucleus assay .Ability to successfully collaborate among a range of diverse scientific backgrounds, with the ability toadapt, work in a matrix environment, and often meet tight timelinesSelf-driven and accountable for own learningRequired Skills: Assay, Biomarker Identification, Cell-Based Assays, Cell Cultures, Detail-Oriented, Experimentation, High-Throughput Screening, In Vitro Assays, Laboratory Techniques, Mammalian Cell, Mammalian Cell Culture, Microscopic Examination, Molecular Biology, Molecular Microbiology, Primary Cell Culture, Sample Processing, Scientific Writing, Teamwork, Technology Development, ToxicologyPreferred Skills: GenotoxicityCurrent Employees apply HERECurrent Contingent Workers apply HEREUS and Puerto Rico Residents Only:Our company is committed to inclusion, ensuring that candidates can engage in a hiring process that exhibits their true capabilities.
