Senior Emergency Services Coordinator

About the Opportunity Under general direction of the Program Manager I (PM I), the Senior Emergency Services Coordinator (Sr. ESC) plays a key role in the Cal OES Disaster Logistics Unit, turning plans into real‑world support for communities impacted by disasters. The Sr. ESC coordinates state disaster logistics project delivery for field operations and incident support, helping ensure critical resources and capabilities are ready when needed. In this fast‑paced environment, the incumbent leads and supports high‑impact projects, improves processes, and produces clear documentation and briefings that help teams act quickly and confidently during incidents. This position requires sound judgment, independence, and strong coordination with internal teams and local/state/federal partners, may serve in a lead capacity over specific efforts, and may require travel on short notice. Desirable Qualifications Demonstrated experience coordinating logistics operations. Experience supporting emergency operations (e.g., EOC/JFO/incident support) or translating operational experience from related environments (public safety, utilities, military, public works, large event operations). Experience administering or coordinating contracts, vendors, and service agreements. Strong skill in producing clear, accurate written products (plans, SOPs, reports, executive summaries). Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; ability to build trackers, and dashboards. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high‑tempo, high‑stress environments with competing priorities and shifting requirements. Experience collaborating with cross‑functional and external partners. Knowledge of or familiarity with ICN/NIMS principles. Working Conditions Hybrid Telework: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Additional in‑office days may be required based on the business need. DMV Pull Program: Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver’s License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions. Conflict of Interest (COI): This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.
