COSMETOLOGY & BEAUTY ENRICHMENT INSTRUCTOR OPPORTUNITIES

Location: In person at partner schools and community locations; varies by assignment
Schedule: Typically 1–4 instructional hours per week, primarily after school
Program Length: Approximately 8–10 weeks for many assignments
Start Date: Rolling opportunities based on school partner schedules
Compensation: Starting at $50+ per completed instructional hour, with rates varying based on the assignment, instructor qualifications and experience, location, scheduling needs, and other program-related factors

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Concorde Education partners with schools and community organizations to provide engaging enrichment programs that introduce students to new skills, interests, and potential career pathways.

We are seeking professionals with cosmetology, beauty, hairstyling, makeup, nail technology, barbering, esthetics, fashion, or related experience who are interested in providing instructional services for K–12 enrichment programs.

Opportunities may be available with elementary, middle, or high school students depending on the specific school partnership and program.

This posting is intended to identify qualified independent professionals who may be considered for future instructional assignments as opportunities become available. Contractors are free to apply for opportunities that interest them and may accept or decline any assignment offered.

WHAT AN ASSIGNMENT MAY INCLUDE

Depending on the specific program, instructional services may involve:

• Facilitating engaging, age-appropriate cosmetology and beauty enrichment sessions;
• Introducing students to cosmetology skills, creative techniques, and beauty-industry career pathways;
• Demonstrating hairstyling, nail art, makeup artistry, beauty design, color theory, or related techniques where appropriate;
• Creating hands-on activities and projects based on student age and experience level;
• Encouraging creativity, confidence, professionalism, and positive self-expression;
• Adapting activities to available materials, classroom resources, program objectives, and site requirements;
• Maintaining safe, respectful, inclusive, and age-appropriate instructional practices;
• Communicating significant assignment-related needs or concerns when appropriate; and
• Completing a brief session-completion form following scheduled instructional sessions.

Programs vary by school and may include areas such as:

• Hairstyling fundamentals and creative styling
• Braiding and introductory hair techniques
• Nail care, nail art, and creative nail design
• Makeup artistry and age-appropriate application techniques
• Color theory and beauty design
• Cosmetology careers and beauty-industry exploration
• Hygiene, sanitation, and safe cosmetology practices
• Professionalism, communication, and customer service
• Beauty entrepreneurship and personal branding
• Portfolio projects and creative showcases

The specific curriculum, projects, demonstrations, materials, and program objectives vary by assignment.

WHO MAY BE A GOOD FIT

Relevant professional or instructional backgrounds may include:

• Cosmetologists

Preferred qualifications may include relevant professional experience; experience teaching, mentoring, coaching, tutoring, or working with school-age students; strong communication and group-facilitation skills; and the ability to demonstrate techniques using safe and age-appropriate practices.

Some assignments or partner sites may require at least 60 college credits or other assignment-specific qualifications.

CURRICULUM, MATERIALS, AND INSTRUCTION

Depending on the assignment, schools or Concorde Education may make curriculum resources, lesson-plan suggestions, project ideas, classroom materials, mannequin heads, practice supplies, presentation materials, or other instructional resources available.

Independent contractors may use their professional judgment and instructional methods to adapt activities within the agreed assignment scope, program objectives, and applicable school or site requirements.

Contractors may also use their own appropriate instructional resources or materials when safe, lawful, age-appropriate, and consistent with the assignment. Any purchases for which reimbursement is requested must receive written approval from Concorde Education before the expense is incurred.

COMPENSATION AND ASSIGNMENT SELECTION

Compensation is established separately for each assignment. Many opportunities begin at $50+ per completed instructional hour with students, with the specific rate depending on factors such as assignment scope, relevant experience, location, schedule, and other program needs.

Applicants may propose a desired compensation rate when applying and should consider the overall assignment, including anticipated preparation, planning, commute, materials, schedule, and other business considerations.

Concorde Education may accept a proposed rate, provide a counteroffer, or select another applicant based on the needs and budget of the specific assignment. There is no obligation to accept an offered assignment or proposed compensation rate.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, compensation is based on completed instructional service hours with students. Payment for completed services is generally made by direct deposit on the fifteenth day of the month following the month in which services were completed, unless different terms are stated in the accepted assignment or required by applicable law.

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR OPPORTUNITIES

These opportunities are for independent contractor instructional services and are not employee positions.

Each assignment is considered separately. Contractors determine which available opportunities they wish to pursue and are free to apply for, accept, decline, or disregard opportunities based on their own availability, interests, business considerations, and desired compensation.

The availability, schedule, duration, location, scope, and compensation of assignments vary according to school partner needs. No minimum number of assignments, instructional hours, or future opportunities is guaranteed.

APPLICATION AND ONBOARDING

Applicants selected for further consideration may be invited to create a contractor profile and complete applicable onboarding or assignment-specific requirements.

Applying, interviewing, creating a contractor profile, completing onboarding, or previously providing services through Concorde Education does not guarantee selection for a particular assignment or future opportunities.

Before services begin, an assignment may be subject to agreed compensation, required onboarding, applicable background-check procedures, site-specific clearances, fingerprinting, documentation, identification requirements, or other legally required compliance steps.

Where applicable, Concorde Education follows required Fair Chance, background-check, pre-adverse action, and related procedures. Applicants should not provide criminal-history information unless and until requested through the appropriate legally compliant process.
