Job Responsibilities

• Performs direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and certified by the patients physician.
• Follows Plan of Care as established by Physical Therapist and reports changes in status.
• Verifies Plan of Care prior to each visit and provides care according to physicians orders and established guidelines.
• Incorporates patient care goals into therapy sessions.
• Instructs patients and families in the safe use of prosthetic, orthotic and assistive devices.
• Teaches patient and caregiver the therapy home program.
• Adheres to State Practice Act Guidelines.
• Works under supervision of Physical Therapist and maintains quality and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association.
• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of Michigan.
• 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
• Able and willing to travel within the branch/office coverage area (approximately 50%).
• Valid drivers license, auto insurance, and dependable vehicle required.
