The Mechanical Engineer supports Veolia Dewatering and Maintenance Solutions on water company wastewater sites, offering a fantastic opportunity for existing field service engineers seeking new challenges. Benefits 25 days of annual leave Refer an Engineer to us and earn £1,000 Access to our company pension scheme Free physiotherapy service Discounts on groceries and well‑known retailers Access to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health 24‑hour virtual GP service, 365 days a year, for you and family members in your household Ongoing training and development opportunities to reach your full potential Responsibilities Work as part of a team of mechanical engineers or fitters across multiple sites (often two engineers per site) Carry out complex and detailed asset overhauls and replacements Undertake mechanical repairs and modifications to dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves and ancillary equipment Inspect, service and repair customers’ dewatering assets and machines Install pipework using plastic, stainless steel and mild steel Provide standby cover and overtime as required, and flexibility to work away from home Complete test reports, installation certificates and customer feedback documents Prepare customer paperwork such as permits to work and safety documentation Work alongside on‑site customer teams and liaise as the first point of contact Lead maintenance and repair of dewatering equipment and ancillaries on sewage and clean water treatment facilities Ensure energy‑efficient operation of assets, minimise downtime and pollution risks Reduce raw material usage by completing thorough maintenance tasks and performing first‑time fixes Qualifications NVQ or a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level3 Full UK Driving Licence Hands‑on engineering maintenance experience Desirable: Complex Trained, Confined Space Trained, First Aid Trained, Clean Water Qualification, SHEA Water Qualification, IOSH Managing Safely, DSEAR Awareness, PASMA Trained Equal Opportunity and Disability Confident Employer As a proud Disability Confident Employer, we will offer an interview to applicants with a disability or long‑term condition who opt‑in to the Disability Confident scheme and meet the minimum criteria for our roles.
