Job Description
Join a commercial electrical and energy contractor supporting solar projects by installing solar systems on flat roofs and carports. In this role, you'll be performing outdoor labor tasks moving materials and some lifting, contributing to rooftop and water tank solar projects in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Responsibilities

• Perform solar installations on flat roofs, including rooftop systems and carport structures for commercial properties.
• Complete both electrical and mechanical aspects of solar installation, following project plans and specifications.
• Assist with solar installation on a flat-roof water tank equipped with a 42-inch handrail around the perimeter.
• Handle solar panels, racking, and related equipment safely and efficiently during installation.
• Support the work of skilled solar installers by performing general construction and labor tasks as directed.
• Follow all site safety procedures, including working at heights on flat roofs and around elevated structures.
• Use basic electrical and construction tools to assemble, mount, and secure solar equipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience with commercial solar installation, including rooftop systems.
• Ability to perform both electrical and mechanical tasks related to solar installation.
• Background in electrical, solar, or construction work in a commercial setting.
• Comfort working at heights on flat roofs and elevated structures.
• Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
• Capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong focus on safety when working on roofs and around electrical equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior solar installation experience is a plus.
• Experience with rooftop solar projects and carport solar structures is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with commercial electrical systems and construction practices.
• Willingness to perform both skilled installation work and general labor tasks as needed.
• Reliability and punctuality for early morning start times.

Work Environment
This is an outdoor, field-based role working on commercial properties, including flat rooftops, water tank roofs with a 42-inch handrail perimeter, and carport structures. Work is weather dependent and requires comfort with heights and exposure to varying conditions such as sun, wind, and temperature changes. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for a 40-hour workweek with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. You work with solar panels, racking systems, electrical components, and typical construction tools in a safety-conscious environment focused on quality installations for commercial customers.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
