About the Position

Locals are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. All facilities honor active compact licenses. Experience in labor and delivery required. Experience with patient diagnoses including labor and preterm labor. Ability to circulate, perform OB-GYN roles, and handle post-operative and pre-operative care. Capable of using low-risk antepartum and low-risk labor and delivery techniques. Special procedures include blood and blood products administration, cardioversion and defibrillation, and the use of warming and cooling blankets. Familiarity with drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps is essential. Experience in managing wound vacs and administering heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate is required. Attend all deliveries and high-risk deliveries. Participation in GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum care, and transition nursery is expected. Staffing ratio is 1:1-3. Ability to float to post-partum and NICU based on skill set. Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, and adults. Experience with high-risk antepartum situations is necessary. Responsibilities include administration of blood and blood products and management of anticoagulation therapy. Assist with high-risk deliveries and circulate for C-sections. Familiarity with insulins drips, isolation precautions/PPE, labor and delivery practices, and magnesium sulfate therapy is essential. Experience in maintaining central lines and performing sterile vaginal exams is required. Teaching experience may be beneficial. Triage of obstetrical patients is part of the role. Knowledge of intrauterine pressure catheter placement and calibration is necessary. Use of PCA (IV) equipment and wound assessment/care is expected.
