Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to guide financial planning for merchandising and serve as a trusted advisor to finance leadership in southeast Virginia. This role focuses on connecting sales, margin, and inventory performance to business decisions, helping leaders understand what is driving results and where action is needed. The ideal candidate brings strong modeling skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to turn complex financial data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH RETAIL SALES AND MARGINS, BUDGETS, FORECASTING AND MANAGING REPORTS. Responsibilities:• Partner with merchandising leaders to evaluate pricing, product mix, promotions, and category strategies through a financial lens.• Direct the annual planning cycle and ongoing forecasting process for merchandising-related areas, ensuring assumptions are current and aligned with business priorities.• Build and refine financial models that link revenue, gross margin, inventory, and operating metrics to expected performance.• Assess sales patterns, category results, and margin movement to identify trends, risks, and opportunities that influence decision-making.• Maintain visibility into profit and loss performance, including revenue, cost of goods sold, and margin outcomes across key business areas.• Work closely with accounting and controllership teams to support accurate reporting, accruals, and consistent financial treatment of margin-related items.• Prepare variance analyses and translate financial results into practical actions for business and finance partners.• Develop ad hoc analyses, investment cases, and scenario models to support strategic choices and leadership recommendations.• Present concise, data-driven insights to senior leaders and influence cross-functional stakeholders through clear financial storytelling.
