Education Requirements

• Associate's Degree (AAS preferred) in Metrology, Quality Assurance, Quality Control Technology, or a laboratory-focused technical field
• Additional laboratory certifications or specialized training required

Experience Requirements

• Previous laboratory experience preferred, especially testing metal powders
• Experience with laboratory equipment, analytical testing, and data collection
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems is a plus
• Understanding of quality assurance, corrective actions, non-conformance management, and continuous improvement practices preferred

Job Duties

• Prepare metal powder samples for laboratory testing
• Perform particle size, density, chemical, and physical property testing
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, spectrometers, and sieves
• Record and analyze test results to ensure quality standards are met
• Prepare reports and document testing activities accurately
• Calibrate testing equipment and maintain laboratory records
• Assist in investigating quality concerns and resolving product issues
• Follow ASTM, AMS, customer specifications, and safety procedures
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on process improvements

Physical Capabilities

• Stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Perform repetitive testing and inspection tasks
• Work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment with exposure to metal powders
• Wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and respiratory equipment when needed
• Follow strict safety and hazardous material handling procedures

What You Will Do


As a Laboratory Technician you will support daily manufacturing operations by assembling products, operating production equipment, inspecting finished goods, packaging materials, maintaining production standards, and following established work instructions. You will help keep production areas clean and organized, monitor product quality, meet production goals, and contribute to safe, efficient manufacturing operations.
