Join a team that is dedicated to driving meaningful change for a better future. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Service Manager, based in San Diego, CA. Reporting to the Director of Service, the Service Manager contributes to Capture H2O’s mission of helping clients achieve their sustainability goals by providing them with excellent service to ensure our projects deliver the desired results. Along with other Service Managers, they will perform scientific testing, generate advisory reports and provide remote data monitoring for clients. The below outlines the essential functions, qualifications, and requirements for the role. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Perform client water treatment service visits based on schedule and established protocol (e.g., monthly). Analyze water treatment data, take corrective actions, make adjustments, communicate the results and recommendations to the client verbally then formally via electronic service report. Maintain water treatment equipment including softeners, controllers, pumps, tubing, chemical inventory, test kits and reagents. This includes rebuilding and repairing equipment if able during service or working with the Operations Manager to generate a quote for repair/replacement items. Develop a relationship with clients and look for ways to improve their systems and programs. Be a consultant for the customer by remotely monitoring water treatment data and responding to alarms. Maintain an updated distribution list for service reports along with WebAdvantage reports and alarms. Lead customer training using the Capture H2O operator training programs. Support Director of Service in developing and providing program administration manuals and operator log sheets to new clients. Keep existing clients’ manuals updated. Follow safety procedures and always use the appropriate PPE. Participate in the training of new service technicians. Maintain relationships with the clients’ building, chief and regional engineers. Execute service plan at each location. Example: pulling coupons, checking bacteria levels, sending third party lab samples, inspecting equipment and training as per the customer agreed upon frequency. Support the Director of Service with individual water treatment results and summaries. Escalate water treatment deficiencies and unresolved problems to the Director of Service. Minimum Qualifications Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Embodiment of our company core values: Team First, Grit, and Innovation. Bachelor of Science degree OR Preferred Experience listed below. Preferred Experience At least 1 year of water treatment experience. Proficient at running water wet tests (e.g., conductivity, pH, total hardness, alkalinity) and corrosion coupon replacement and monitoring. Understanding of how to calibrate and maintain testing equipment. Ability to understand and interpret all the above water tests with regards to managing the water treatment program. Ability to make the appropriate adjustments and recommendations to correct water treatment deficiencies. Full understanding of how to set up, monitor, test, adjust and control a chemical water treatment program for cooling towers and closed loops. Capable of describing the basic components of an HVAC cooling system, open and closed loops (including both chilled and heating hot water). Capable of identifying types of cooling tower and the water paths. Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge. Work Requirements Must be able to travel domestically up to 75% of the time. Ability to stand on their feet for 8 hours a day. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours and remote respond to alarms at client locations within 24 hours.
