Must have trauma level 2 or 3 experience. Will accept first-time travelers and travel duos. Need critical care experience. Description: The Respiratory Therapist will perform arterial blood gas (ABG) and capillary blood gas (CBG) analysis in intensive care units. They will provide coverage for the EKG department overnight and in certain situations. Respiratory Therapists are expected to assist with intubation and may place laryngeal airways during code blue situations. Neonatologists and hospitalists are available 24/7. There is a Respiratory Therapy system director, manager, supervisor, and lead therapist on each shift. Shifts consist of three 12-hour days and nights. Weekend commitment is every third weekend, and holiday commitment is every other holiday. Occasional off-shift call needs from 1900-0400 may arise, with volunteers accepted to maintain safe minimums. The response time for call is within one hour. The department utilizes various respiratory equipment, including vents and CPAP machines. Clientists are responsible for medical and surgical units, while intensivists are in the ICUs around the clock. All clinicians must clock in and out during their shifts.
