Desktop Support SpecialistLHH is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist for a contract opportunity in New York, NY. This role will provide localized, white-glove IT support to approximately 220 users, partnering closely with stakeholders and the broader desktop support team to ensure timely, professional, and effective technical support.The Desktop Support Specialist will serve as a key point of contact for end-user support, troubleshooting hardware, software, account, conferencing, and connectivity issues. This position requires a strong customer service presence, the ability to translate technical information for non-technical users, and a hands-on approach to supporting daily IT operations.This role requires onsite support 5 days per week based on business needs, with the potential for remote support as appropriate.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide localized desktop and help desk support for end users, delivering a high level of customer service and stakeholder supportServe as a first point of contact for IT issues, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, account access, and connectivity concernsSupport meeting setups, Zoom/video conferencing, conference room technology, and technical needs for internal and client-facing meetingsConfigure, deploy, and support desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, peripherals, and other IT equipmentAssist with IT inventory management, asset tracking, equipment coordination, and hardware repair processesTroubleshoot Microsoft Office Suite/O365, Windows environments, Active Directory, VPN, wireless, and general network-related issuesSupport password resets, account lockouts, archive restores, RSA setup and troubleshooting, and full disk encryption processesFollow documented procedures, workflows, SOPs, and checklists accurately and consistentlyTrack assigned tickets from intake through resolution, ensuring timely updates and end-user satisfactionPartner with desktop support teammates, administrative teams, and IT leadership to resolve issues and support business continuityProvide hands-on support during a period of increased team need while the organization searches for a permanent hireQualifications3+ years of IT experience in a help desk or desktop support capacity required; 4 to 6 years of experience preferredExperience providing IT support in a professional services or corporate environment preferredStrong hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/O365, Windows 10, Active Directory, and general technical troubleshootingExperience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, mobile devices, conference room equipment, and video conferencing toolsWorking knowledge of VPN, wireless technologies, LAN/WAN networking, CLI, and enterprise Windows environmentsAbility to provide professional, service-oriented support to both technical and non-technical usersStrong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectivelyDemonstrated consistency, reliability, and longevity in prior roles preferredAbility to follow documented processes, checklists, and workflows with accuracyCompTIA A+ certification preferredMicrosoft Technology Associate certification preferredDell Hardware Certification a plusIf you or someone you know is interested in this Desktop Support Specialist role in New York, NY, please apply today!
