As a Lab Phlebotomist, you will be the frontline representative of patient care in a leading medical center. Responsibilities:

• Draw blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric patients, adhering to established protocols for safety and accuracy.
• Prepare and label specimens accurately, ensuring proper handling and documentation for laboratory testing.
• Provide exceptional customer service by explaining procedures clearly and creating a trusting environment for patients.
• Maintain clean, safe, and professional work environments in compliance with safety regulations and confidentiality standards.
• Record and track specimen data meticulously, ensuring all records are complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate leadership qualities and process-focused behaviors while working under the supervision of the area manager.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and laboratory operations.
• Follow scheduled appointments and adapt to flexible work hours including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime, as needed.
• Maintain reliable transportation and punctuality to meet shift requirements consistently.

Required Skills:

• Proven phlebotomy skills, with experience drawing blood from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills and the ability to explain procedures confidently.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability and professionalism.
• Attention to detail in specimen collection, labeling, and documentation processes.
• Basic keyboard and data entry skills to maintain accurate records.
• Physical capability to perform blood draws, including standing for extended periods, handling needles, and lifting supplies.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Medical assistant or paramedic training background.
• Phlebotomy certification (especially valuable in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Prior experience in retail, customer service, or other service environments demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or laboratory information systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience is required; 1+ years preferred.
• Additional healthcare training, such as medical assistant or paramedic coursework, is advantageous.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments managing multiple patients efficiently.

Other Requirements:

• Candidates must reside within a 20-25 minute commute of the work site to ensure punctuality and reliability.
• Reliable, personal transportation is required; use of public transportation, rideshare, or being dropped off may not be sufficient.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
• Current phlebotomy certification is required in certain states; all certifications should be current and verifiable.
• Candidates should be able to perform physically demanding tasks such as specimen collection and standing for prolonged periods.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential; excessive tardiness or absenteeism may result in termination.
