Project Engineer (Onsite)

Location: US-CT-MIDDLETOWN-140 ~ Aircraft Rd ~ BLDG 140 Position Role Type: Onsite What You Will Do Collaborate with a cross‑functional team of experts (Project, Design, Structures, Aero, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, and Industrial Engineering) Partner closely with the Engineering Support to Operations (ESTO) organization to ensure seamless integration between engineering and manufacturing, driving efficiency and innovation in production processes Resolve manufacturing challenges and address producibility issues with part producers and suppliers to ensure on‑time delivery of spare parts and hardware that supports fleet sustainment and schedule requirements Plan, acquire, and manage budgets for Integrated Product Team (IPT) tasks, applying core Project Engineering skills such as task planning, tracking, and earned value management (EVMS) Communicate with internal and external customers, providing clear, timely updates on task status and technical content to the IPT and Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) Interface directly with engineering management, program management, suppliers, and customers to drive execution and achieve program objectives Gain exposure to project management frameworks, including Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall Travel up to 10% to supplier locations supporting F119 spares production This position requires regular walking and standing while working on the manufacturing floor, with the ability to move through production areas safely What You Will Learn Hands‑on experience supporting a technically complex product line, gaining insight into military engine production, component design, and manufacturing processes Practical skills in resolving real‑time producibility and manufacturing challenges, building strong engineering judgment and problem‑solving capabilityOpportunities to lead tasks, influence project outcomes, and contribute to high‑impact initiatives that directly support fleet sustainment and customer readiness Immersion in a culture that values continuous learning, innovation, and curiosity, with pathways to grow your career across Engineering, Operations, and Program organizations Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 2+ years of relevant engineering experience U.S. citizenship required Qualifications We Prefer Strong communication and organizational skills Proven ability to manage and execute multiple tasks effectively Proficiency in AGILE, Confluence, Jira, and SAP Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) What We Offer Relocation Eligibility RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
