Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, pension funds, financial sponsors, and governments and are a team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out‑of‑the‑box ideas.

Industrials industries include aerospace and defense, automotive, building and construction, business services, capital goods, diversified industrials, transportation and infrastructure, and paper, forest products and packaging.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Role Responsibilities

Our Associates play an important role in developing and strengthening client relationships, participating on advisory teams, and structuring and executing a full range of financial transactions. Their responsibilities include creating and analyzing financial models, organizing and preparing client presentations, helping manage transaction processes, and assisting in structuring transactions. They will gain exposure to the firm’s businesses and expand their knowledge of the investment banking industry, as they develop key analytical, communication, and marketing skills.

Associates develop financial models, perform customized company valuation analysis, and are actively involved in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and fixed income and equity issuances. They organize and prepare presentations that explain industry trends, assess clients’ situations to provide necessary financial advice, and recommend strategies to meet client goals. Additionally, Associates coordinate teams of tax advisors, attorneys, and bankers for various transactions; lead due diligence processes and actively participate in the negotiations of legal documentation. From maintaining client communication to helping Goldman Sachs structure client transactions, our Associates are a vital part of our banking team’s investments.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of investment banking or equivalent experience
• History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
• Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions
• Previous Industrials sector experience preferred

Expected base salary for this Chicago, Illinois, United States-based position is $150,000-$215,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
