Project AccountantIntermap Technologies, an International publicly traded company headquartered in Englewood CO, is an industry leader in geospatial intelligence solutions. Intermap produces reliable, accurate datasets, 3D terrain models and decision-making tools for customers who need a more comprehensive understanding of our planet.Our Finance team needs a full-time Project Accountant to cover during a LOA. Possible Temp to Hire. Flexible work hours. Responsibilities will include creation of reconciliations and journal entries for six companies. Will assist with monthly general ledger, project, and fixed asset accounting as well as analyzing monthly variances and reporting.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintains project accounting records in general ledger software (Great Plains 2016) and ensures contract compliance for timely and accurate billing and revenue recognition.Issues and reviews client invoices to ensure they are in accordance with the contract terms and assists in the timely collection of accounts receivable while performing detailed reviews of unbilled revenue.Provides monthly estimate-at-completion (EAC) budget forecast which includes calculating budget overruns and revenue adjustments as well as month-end reporting on project performance including gross margin variances and ad hoc reporting.A key player in the month-end close process, which includes booking cost accruals and deferrals, ensuring revenue recognition is complete and accurate, and completing account reconciliations for each organization.Preparation of intercompany reconciliations and entries.Preparation of standard monthly journal entries; prepaids, accruals, reclasses, etc., as needed.Produces monthly accounting reports for financial statements and monthly management reports.Compares actual costs to estimates and analyzes variances.Required Skills and ExperienceBS in Accounting preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years project accounting and GL experience.Advanced Excel skills and use of Microsoft Office applications.Strong project accounting knowledge, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation background.Proficiency will Great Plains accounting software preferred.Work environment consists of open cubicle workstation or shared office with ample lighting.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
