Senior Property Accountant

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for financial analysis. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to management. The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including financial statement preparation. Ramcal Management is the owner/operator of 3 commercial buildings in the Los Angeles area. We are seeking to add a Senior Property Accountant to our team for a on site position in our offices at 11500 W. Olympic Blvd. The Property Accountant will report to the Controller and assist in the oversight of all Accounting & Finance matters pertaining to 3 commercial (medical) office buildings. This candidate must demonstrate initiative, a collaborative work style and exceptional communication skills. This role will be \"hands-on\" and require the performance of fundamental Property Accounting tasks, and an understanding of full-cycle accounting, while working with the operations and management team. This role will liaise with external and internal resources and must ensure that the company follows all reporting guidelines (in accordance with GAAP) and procedures. Responsibilities Perform all accounting processing and reporting task for the commercial office buildings-including tenant billing adjustments, rent/deposit management, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, CAM adjustments, etc. Manage month-end close for all properties, and provide assistance with financial reporting. Perform oversight of department SOP's to ensure a high level of quality including the documentation, implementation and adherence thereto: develop and document accounting policies and business processes to strengthen internal controls and streamline processing efficiency. Manage the assets capitalization (CIP) process including the review, capitalization and amortization of cost for all properties. Assist with general bookkeeping task utilizing QB online for other \"related\" entities, as directed by the Controller. Support the Controller with data requests for property insurance renewals and audits, insurance and tax data requests, 1099 processing, state tax audits, bank/lender reporting requirements. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; Thorough knowledge of accounting fundamentals (GAAP) Analytical skills with data management using Excel (advanced) required Proficiency with accounting software –Yardi Voyager, Sage and QuickBooks Online preferred Prior experience in Property Accounting required Compliance oriented Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
