Receiver

Position Summary Receives, logs, and issues materials to stockroom, warehouse or designated location. Essential Functions Checks goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders. Checks goods for damage and expiration dates. Identifies and accounts for all histamine products (seafood only). Sorts, counts and checks received items. Maintains required clerical records. Operates warehouse equipment as needed to move goods to storage area and place in designated location. Identifies damaged packaging and/or possible cross‑contaminated product. Performs returns. Maintains and rotates cooler and freezer (USDA only). Inventory control (USDA only). Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Must be able to work independently or within a team environment. Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start‑up, movement, or approach of equipment, mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations. Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV).
