Job Responsibilities
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and in-depth discussions of medical histories
- Assist in the diagnosis and evaluation of surgical conditions through analyzing imaging results and lab work
- Work hand-in-hand with surgeons to develop and implement individual surgical treatment plans
- Provide critical intraoperative assistance by preparing the surgical environment, positioning patients, and passing surgical tools during operations
- Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative care, encompassing medication management, wound care, patient education, and discharge planning
- Master's degree from a recognized Physician Assistant program
- Experience with clinical rotations focused on surgery is highly preferred
- Current and unrestricted PA-C certification required
- BLS and ACLS certifications are a must
- State licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as a Physician Assistant
- In-depth knowledge of surgical concepts and sterile practices
- Ability to interpret diagnostic tests and contribute to substantial clinical decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Capacity to perform optimally in high-stress environments, especially during surgical procedures
