Lead Accountant

Fortune 500 Industry leader is looking for a Lead Accountant to serve as a senior member of the accounting team, overseeing key accounting functions, leading month-end close activities, reviewing work prepared by staff accountants, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role acts as a technical accounting resource, helps improve processes, and serves as a mentor to junior accounting staff. Key Responsibilities Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Prepare and review complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports Analyze financial results and investigate variances Review work performed by Staff Accountants and provide guidance and training Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis Coordinate external audits and support tax compliance activities Maintain and improve accounting processes, procedures, and controls Manage fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other key balance sheet accounts Partner with operational leaders and department managers to provide financial insight and support Assist with ERP implementations, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 4+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Microsoft Excel skill Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tool Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skill Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadline Strong communication and leadership abilities Preferred Qualifications CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred Prior experience reviewing staff work or leading projects Manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, construction, or service industry experience depending on company needs #J-18808-Ljbffr Kellogg Staffing
