Job Opportunity – Palliative Care Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: November 2, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day/Night rotation or Night shift available; 12-hour shifts with scheduling reviewed every 4-week period based on department needs; 72-hour orientation provided

Highlights:

• Join a newly established 12-bed Medical Oncology Palliative Care Unit focused on expert symptom management and compassionate patient-centered care
• Provide relief and quality of life improvements for patients experiencing uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and other serious illness complications
• Enhance your palliative care skills while maintaining med-surg competencies through floating to high-acuity units of equivalent or lower acuity levels
• Work with an interdisciplinary team including interpretation services to address physical, emotional, and psychosocial patient needs
• Epic EMR system utilized throughout facility
• Support patients and families through complex healthcare decisions with dignity and comfort

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of current, recent acute care RN experience (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Valid compact or Ohio state RN license required at time of application
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic pain interventions and equianalgesic dosing of opioids
• Proficiency in heparin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, PCA pumps, and oxygen administration
• Willingness to float to equivalent or lower acuity units as needed
• 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
