Staff Accountant

Purpose

To aid the Assistant Controller in keeping the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control.


Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and in-house requirements
• Manage journal entries, invoices, etc, and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
• Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
• Participate in preparation for the annual audit
• Help in the development of reports for management
• Build Financial and Operational reports for the needs of the business - prepared and ad hoc basis
• Design and present FP&A results and solutions to the Finance Department and key figures within the company
• Other Special Projects deemed by Finance or Executive Team
• Review the company's accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
• Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records
• Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with established best practices
• Support all aspects of accounting management
• React to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned
• Backup to AP and Payroll as needed

Assisting with process improvement for the Finance Department

Qualifications

• Valid Driver License
• Four year degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field is required
• Professional certification (CPA/CMA) is preferred
• Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
• Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
• Experience with Sage 100 accounting software is preferred
• Well-organized with ability to prioritize
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Excellent attendance

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

• Primarily sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time
• May be occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
• The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc;
• Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
• Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
• Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others

Pay Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $75,000.00 /Yr.
