Manufacturing Sales & Customer Relationship Manager

A growing manufacturing company is looking for an experienced, relationship-driven sales professional to help grow our customer base while providing exceptional service to our existing customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the construction and building industry , enjoys developing long-term customer relationships, and knows how to communicate effectively with builders, architects, designers, contractors, and other construction professionals .

We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, personable, and comfortable taking ownership of customer relationships from the initial inquiry through follow-up and ongoing account development.

What You'll Do

You will be responsible for both new business development and existing customer relationships , including:

• Develop new customer relationships with builders, architects, designers, contractors, and other construction-industry professionals

• Follow up promptly and professionally with incoming sales leads and customer inquiries

• Proactively contact prospective customers and introduce our company and capabilities

• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers

• Identify opportunities for repeat business and additional projects

• Follow up on estimates, quotes, samples, and previous customer inquiries

• Help customers understand product options and determine the best solution for their projects

• Communicate with customers throughout the sales process and provide a high level of customer service

• Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, follow-ups, and customer activity

• Work closely with estimating, production, and management to make sure customer expectations are clearly communicated

• Develop relationships that create long-term, repeat customers rather than focusing only on individual transactions

• Help identify new builders, design firms, architectural firms, contractors, and other potential accounts

• Represent the company professionally with customers and industry partners

What We're Looking ForRequired

• Previous experience in the construction, building products, architectural products, or related industry

• Experience working directly with builders, contractors, designers, architects, or construction professionals

• Strong customer service experience

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Comfortable following up consistently with customers and sales leads

• Ability to understand construction terminology and communicate effectively about projects

• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple customers, leads, and follow-ups at the same time

• Self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative

• Professional phone, email, and interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to develop relationships and earn the trust of customers

Preferred

Experience with any of the following is especially valuable:

• Architectural details or architectural building products

• Millwork

• Doors and windows

• Cabinetry

• Interior finishes

• Exterior building products

• Custom building products

• Residential or luxury residential construction

• Commercial construction

• Working with architectural plans, drawings, specifications, or takeoffs

Knowledge of architectural details is helpful, but construction-industry experience and the ability to build strong customer relationships are more important.
