Overview GEICO seeks an accomplished, people-centered Director, Assistant Staff Counsel to lead and elevate its Staff Counsel function in the East. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for managing managers and senior managers who oversee a large team of attorneys and legal support professionals. The Director is expected to bring strong managerial capability, sound judgment, and an organized, forward-thinking approach to leading litigation operations at scale. This individual will focus on strengthening the management layer, fostering a collaborative and accountable culture, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality litigation work across the office. The role requires proactive leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to present solutions rather than problems. Experience Ideal candidates will have substantial experience managing attorneys or litigation teams in environments such as in-house legal departments, government agencies, or law firms where they have effectively led multiple matters and supervised teams.
