Senior Accountant
A well‑established, privately held organization in Minneapolis is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month‑end close, technical accounting areas, lease accounting, and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow within a stable organization that invests in its people.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries and ensure the accuracy of general ledger activity
- Apply GAAP to complex accounting matters, including capitalization vs. expensing, inventory valuation, and other technical areas
- Lead and manage lease accounting under ASC 842, including new leases, modifications, remeasurements, and terminations
- Identify and implement process improvements in accounting operations and financial reporting
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Prepare or support monthly financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Provide oversight and backup support for daily and monthly cash‑related activities
- Lead key components of month‑end and year‑end close
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank accounts and GL accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Finance, or related major preferred
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
