Job Description Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Industrial Manufacturing industry, your main responsibility is to design and develop mechanical machines, systems, equipment, tools and parts. You will be using your expertise to improve existing equipment designs and to create new, innovative designs. This Senior Mechanical Engineer job description involves working with product development to define and create products that meet customer needs. Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Mechanical design for machinery, layouts, assemblies, and components, including preparing assembly, DXF's, weldments, and detailed drawings and part lists.
• Oversee the testing and analysis of prototype equipment, parts and products for the food processing industry to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
• Manage and lead a team of engineers to accomplish project goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with other departments such as electrical and software engineering.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation such as design specifications, test plans, and production procedures.
• Participate in the research and development of new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and product performance.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges during the manufacturing process.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and team members.
• Stay informed of industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering to continuously develop skills and knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for product safety and performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
• 5-7 years’ experience in mechanical design and analysis
• Demonstrated experience in complex modeling and simulation (stress, strain, thermal, etc.)
• Proficiency in the use of SolidWorks Mechanical Design Suite.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
• Must be able to work independently or with a team, handle the stress of multiple projects, changing schedules, and short suspense tasking.
