The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who excels in an independent work environment, consistently maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role involves precision welding, metal fabrication, and finishing work on steel frames and components for specialized training equipment and shooting range systems.Key ResponsibilitiesWelding & Fabrication: Perform hand welding and flame-cutting operations to join metal components according to specifications, blueprints, and work ordersPrecision Work: Handle complex seams and large-scale workpieces requiring advanced welding techniquesBlueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings accuratelyTool & Equipment Operation: Utilize precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers) and material handling equipment (forklifts)Template Development: Create jigs, fixtures, and work aids to ensure proper alignment and holding of partsProcess Optimization: Select appropriate welding methods and equipment based on metallurgy knowledge and project requirementsQuality Assurance: Perform measuring, layout, and finishing work to meet exact specificationsContinuous Improvement: Provide feedback to management for product enhancement opportunitiesSafety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and health policiesRequired QualificationsMinimum 2-3 years of professional welding experienceAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsProficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers)Experience operating material handling equipment (forklift certification preferred)Knowledge of metallurgy and various welding techniquesStrong attention to detail and quality standardsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervisionPhysical ability to handle demanding fabrication workSkills & CompetenciesMIG/TIG/Stick welding proficiencyMetal fabrication and finishing techniquesBlueprint reading and technical drawing interpretationPrecision measurement and layout skillsKnowledge of safety protocols in manufacturing environmentsProblem-solving abilities for complex welding challengesTime management and project prioritizationWhat We OfferJoin a growing company with over 20 years of industry experience in specialized manufacturing.
