Substitute Custodian

Summary The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Substitute Custodian. This position is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. As a substitute custodian, you will provide support during staff absences and ensure that all facilities are well-maintained and ready for daily activities. Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations. Assist in setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events and activities. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to the supervisor. Follow established safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Respond to emergency cleaning requests as needed. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Collaborate with other custodial staff and school personnel to ensure a cohesive and efficient operation. Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions. Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to varying schedules.
