GENERAL MANAGER — FURNITURE, APPLIANCE & HOME IMPROVEMENT RETAIL

Stu's Home Improvement Outlet | Dubuque, Iowa | Full-Time

$125,000 – $200,000+ | Performance Pay | Relocation Assistance Available

This is not a desk job. We need a floor-first, high-energy leader who closes deals, trains teams, and drives revenue. If you have managed a $10M+ furniture or appliance retail operation and you live for being on the sales floor — we want to talk to you.

We specialize in scratch-and-dent appliances, open-box products, furniture, sectionals, and home improvement products at a fraction of retail price. We are growing fast and we need the right leader to take us to the next level.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• You have led a furniture or appliance retail store doing $10 million or more in annual revenue

• You are outgoing, magnetic, and high energy — people follow you naturally

• You are on the sales floor every single day — not behind a desk

• You train your team by standing next to them and showing them how it's done

• You understand consumer financing and use it as a closing tool

• You build marketing calendars and execute promotions that drive traffic

• You recruit aggressively and never settle for average salespeople

• You are motivated by earning what you're worth — not by how much time off you get

• You have NOT come from rent-to-own — traditional retail experience only

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead the sales floor daily — visible, energetic, closing

• Hire, train, and hold the sales team accountable to KPIs

• Present and close with consumer financing on every deal

• Build and execute monthly marketing and promotional calendars

• Manage lead follow-up — no lead left behind

• Oversee inventory, pricing, and merchandising

• Deliver weekly performance reports to ownership

• Drive monthly revenue growth of 30% or more

• Build toward $400,000 in monthly revenue within 90 days

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

First 30 days — you take command of the floor, rebuild the sales process, establish accountability, and show us measurable growth.

First 90 days — monthly revenue is growing 30%+ month over month, the team is trained and performing, and financing is being closed on every deal.

Long term — you help us build one of the Midwest's leading furniture and appliance retail brands across multiple locations.
