1st Shift Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Proman Staffing is hiring a hands-on Shipping & Receiving Clerk for a leading global logistics provider. This role balances physical inventory processing on the warehouse floor with real-time data entry. It is designed for a detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at tracking freight accurately.
Responsibilities
- Scanning & Verification: Scan incoming and outgoing shipments using RF scanners to verify piece counts, item numbers, and barcodes against manifests.
- Data Entry: Input and update shipping, receiving, and tracking information into the warehouse management system (WMS) in real time.
- Inbound/Outbound Processing: Unload, check in, stage, and prepare freight for shipment, ensuring all documentation matches physical inventory.
- Inventory Control: Conduct physical cycle counts, identify discrepancies, and generate inventory reports.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with floor personnel and carriers to resolve shipping discrepancies immediately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on warehouse experience, specifically in shipping/receiving or inventory control.
- Proficiency with RF scanners and digital inventory systems.
- Strong data entry skills with high speed and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask between physical labor and system tracking in a high-volume environment.
Working Conditions
- Active warehouse environment. Requires extended periods of standing, walking, and operating handheld scanners on the floor.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
