We are looking for an experienced Buyer to support indirect procurement activities for a manufacturing organization in Woodbury, Minnesota. This Contract position will play a key role in maintaining efficient purchasing operations, strengthening supplier interactions, and helping internal teams navigate procurement processes. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage purchasing workflows in a structured environment while identifying opportunities to improve value and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full lifecycle of indirect purchase orders, including creation, updates, follow-up, and resolution of ordering issues to keep transactions moving efficiently.

• Guide internal stakeholders through procurement procedures, including purchase requisition support and review of required documentation for completeness and accuracy.

• Facilitate onboarding requests for new suppliers by advising requestors on submission requirements and coordinating the setup process.

• Partner with quality-related functions to route applicable suppliers for evaluation and support their inclusion on approved vendor lists when required.

• Collaborate with Finance, Accounts Payable, Receiving, and other internal teams to address invoice concerns, receiving discrepancies, and supplier-related service issues.

• Analyze spending activity and sourcing options to uncover savings opportunities through quote comparisons, supplier discussions, and demand consolidation.

• Use Oracle and related procurement tools to monitor purchasing activity, generate reports, and track operational metrics.

• Ensure purchasing practices align with internal policies, compliance expectations, and established procurement standards.

• Stay informed on supplier capabilities and market conditions to support sound buying decisions and continuous process improvement.

• At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, with exposure to indirect spend management.
• Working knowledge of purchase order processing, supplier coordination, and issue resolution in a business environment.
• Proficiency with Oracle for purchasing activities is required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with suppliers and cross-functional internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in a regulated or highly structured procurement setting is an advantage.
