LocationRemote – CST time zone Experience10+ YearsJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to establish and drive enterprise-wide data governance, data quality, metadata management, and Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining governance frameworks, implementing data management best practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling trusted data across business functions.The role requires expertise in Microsoft Purview, Data Governance Roadmaps, Data Quality frameworks, Data Modeling, Metadata Management, MDM, SQL, and Python-based automation.Key ResponsibilitiesData Governance Strategy & RoadmapDevelop and implement enterprise Data Governance Strategy and Operating Model.Define Data Governance Roadmap, Policies, Standards, and Procedures.Establish Data Governance Council and Stewardship Program.Drive data ownership, accountability, and stewardship across business domains.Define and monitor governance KPIs and compliance metrics.Data Quality ManagementDesign and implement enterprise Data Quality Framework.Establish data quality dimensions including Accuracy, Completeness, Consistency, Timeliness, Validity, and Uniqueness.Define and automate data quality rules and controls.Lead data remediation and issue management processes.Develop and monitor Data Quality Scorecards and Dashboards.Master Data Management (MDM)Design and implement Customer, Product, Vendor, and Reference Data Management strategies.Define Golden Record architecture and survivorship rules.Lead data matching, deduplication, hierarchy management, and data standardization initiatives.Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve master data processes.Metadata Management & Data CatalogDevelop enterprise Metadata Management framework.Manage Business Glossary, Data Dictionary, and Data Lineage.Establish metadata standards and governance controls.Improve data discoverability, data classification, and lineage visibility.Data ModelingDevelop Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models.Define enterprise canonical data models and standards.Collaborate with Data Architects and Engineering teams to ensure model consistency.Review and approve data architecture and modeling deliverables.Microsoft Purview ImplementationImplement and manage Microsoft Purview capabilities.Configure Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Data Lineage, Data Classification, and Data Estate Insights.Establish automated metadata scanning and cataloging processes.Enable governance workflows and compliance reporting within Purview.Drive enterprise adoption of Microsoft Purview.Data Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, BCBS239, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and other applicable regulations.Implement data classification and information protection controls.Support audits, regulatory reporting, and risk management activities.Automation & AnalyticsUtilize Python and SQL to automate governance processes.Develop data profiling, quality monitoring, and metadata extraction solutions.Create governance dashboards and reporting metrics.Support AI and analytics initiatives by improving trusted data availability.Required SkillsData GovernanceData Governance FrameworksData StewardshipData Ownership ModelsPolicy DevelopmentGovernance Operating ModelsData ManagementMetadata ManagementBusiness GlossaryData CatalogData LineageReference Data ManagementData QualityData ProfilingData Quality RulesData CleansingData MonitoringRoot Cause AnalysisMDMCustomer MDMProduct MDMGolden Record ManagementHierarchy ManagementMatch & Merge StrategiesData ModelingConceptual ModelingLogical Data ModelingPhysical Data ModelingDimensional ModelingCanonical Data ModelsTechnology SkillsMicrosoft PurviewAzure Data PlatformSQL ServerAzure SynapseAzure Data FactoryDatabricksPower BIPythonSQLPreferred QualificationsExperience implementing Microsoft Purview at enterprise scale.Experience in BFSI, Retail, Healthcare, Manufacturing, or Telecom domains.Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.Experience leading enterprise data governance transformation programs.
