Senior Maintenance Technician

Our client, a chemical manufacturer, is hiring a Maintenance Technician to keep its chemical processing equipment and facilities running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, sharp troubleshooting skills, and a real commitment to safety and quality. What You'll Do Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on chemical processing equipment, including pumps, valves, reactors, and distillation units Diagnose equipment malfunctions, leaks, and other issues and resolve them quickly to minimize downtime Follow all safety protocols when handling hazardous chemicals, maintaining equipment, and completing repairs Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment modifications in line with regulatory requirements Respond to emergencies such as chemical spills, leaks, or equipment failures and help contain risks to people and the environment Monitor chemical inventory and spare parts, and coordinate with procurement to keep supplies stocked Train and support operators and maintenance staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency, and cost savings, and partner with engineering to implement improvements What You Bring 5 to 6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or processing environment Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processing equipment; experience with pumps, valves, and piping for liquid transport preferred Intermediate knowledge of pipe fitting, carpentry, welding, and electrical and mechanical systems Working knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, and OSHA regulations Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Clear verbal and written communication with colleagues, vendors, and contractors Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work non-standard hours and overtime and to respond to emergencies Education High school diploma or equivalent required Technical training or certification in chemical maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred Physical Requirements Time split between an office setting and the chemical and shipping warehouse; safety gear and PPE required when appropriate Walking between departments, using stairs, and climbing ladders Bending, crouching, squatting, and kneeling Ability to lift up to 55 lbs unassisted Extended periods of sitting and computer work #J-18808-Ljbffr
