Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking a responsive, organized, detailed orientated SH&E Manager for immediate employment to lead Safety, Health & Environment efforts for part of AECOM’s East Region. This position works as a member of a dynamic team of SH&E Managers, Specialists, and Administrators providing support to AECOM Design, Consulting Services operations throughout the United States. The SH&E Manager must be able to quickly learn and adapt to new situations and challenges, make assessments about resource needs and assist operations leadership in successfully delivering safe and healthy work. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. This will be a hybrid position including a combination of both remote and in-office work schedules and will require 25 to 35% travel throughout the East Region. This position can be based in an AECOM office located in the East Region but not limited to: Arlington, VA, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, FL or Atlanta, GA The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:Provide visible and active support throughout the region for safetyMonitor and assess safety programs at diverse work sites (civil construction, building construction, environmental remediation and construction)Identify specific, actionable and feasible solutions to complex safety, health and environmental issuesLead the incident management process and validate the effectiveness of corrective actions Review site and project specific safety plans, training programs, audit protocols, and supporting safety programs (rewards and recognition, security plans etc.)Recommend changes to policies and procedures that affect the region’s operations and employees Train and coach all levels of employees in the organizationsAssist operational group in meeting safety performance targetsConduct safety training, lead meetings and work groups involving various types of workers, ability to adapt with group dynamics and create engaging learning environments.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering, or other relevant subject and 8+ years of relevant experience in a SH&E role or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Professional certification as a CSP or CIH.Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite.Must be able to motivate others, build teams and maintain forward thinking approach.Ability to successfully influence and inspire others to work safely and effectively.Able to form trusted relationships with clients, subcontractors and consultants.Able to work productively with all levels of the organization including field technicians, engineers, scientists, senior managers and executives.Able to work cross functionally in operations, and partner with other internal stakeholders.Experience leading geographically dispersed organizations.Experience with data management and/or analytics platforms such as Microsoft Power BI or Power Automate.Preferred Qualifications:Comfort with digital tools and technology-enabled safety processes, including dashboards, mobile apps, and data platformsDemonstrated ability to collaborate with digital transformation teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and automationInterest in leveraging data and analytics to drive insights and enhance safety performanceFamiliarity with collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint) and willingness to adopt emerging digital solutionsTech-savvy approach with openness to learning and championing new tools that modernize safety managementAdditional InformationRelocation assistance may be available for this role.Travel, including occasional overnight stays, will be necessary and may constitute up to 25% - 35% of your time.Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
