Our organization is in search of an enthusiastic leader to become part of a newly established, community-focused center for behavioral health. This center will provide integrated services addressing mental health, substance use, physical health, and social service needs. Situated in the vibrant Lower East Side, our Behavioral Health Center presents opportunities for leadership, professional growth, teaching, and research within the Department of Psychiatry. Recently, our center was recognized by Becker's Healthcare as one of the top hospitals and health systems for psychiatry programs in 2024.

The local museums and restaurants reflect the rich history of the community.

The Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine is a thriving community of clinicians, researchers, educators, and trainees dedicated to uncovering the causes of mental illness and substance use disorders, as well as improving treatment options. We are ranked #6 nationally in NIH funding and recognized as one of the leading regional hospital departments by U.S. News & World Report. Our Behavioral Health service line includes clinical services across various locations, such as the main hospital and several affiliated centers.

• Oversee daily clinical services and operations in collaboration with the Administrative Manager to ensure the clinic runs efficiently and effectively.
• Lead initiatives focused on quality and safety, supporting regulatory compliance and accreditation preparedness.
• Ensure adherence to documentation and billing standards, oversee quality and safety measures, and maintain readiness for regulatory surveys.
• Coordinate with other services to facilitate seamless patient care and communication among providers.
• Organize and lead regular staff meetings; contribute to departmental grand rounds and various training sessions.

• Deliver direct psychiatric care (50% of total responsibilities), including evaluations, medication management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams for shared patient care.
• Supervise multidisciplinary staff and trainees in managing patient crises, ongoing high-risk care, and leading high-risk consultation meetings.
• Work with training leadership to organize resident rotations and supervisor assignments within the clinic.

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid New York Medical License.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry (preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a psychiatric environment.

The compensation for this position ranges from $300,000 to $330,000, excluding incentive compensation or benefits.

Salary Disclosure Information:
Our organization provides a salary range to comply with New York City's Salary Transparency law. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, specialties, historical productivity, collections, and community needs. Therefore, the final salary may be closer to either end of the range or, in some cases, outside of it. The listed salary range applies to full-time positions and does not include bonuses or additional compensation.
