Market Risk Analyst

Position Summary:

Joining our 18-month Graduate Program will give you the on-the-job training and support you require to become successful in this role at our international banking client. The program is designed for recent graduates, and you must therefore have graduated from Undergraduate or Graduate school within the past 12 months. Our client is looking for a graduate to join our Market Risk team.

The Risk Control New York Graduate Trainee graduate will primarily be responsible for supporting the team with the operational responsibilities involved in data collection, management and regulatory reporting, meeting preparation as well as assisting ad-hoc tasks with local Trading desks and other departments where required. Such operational support will allow the Risk Control team to focus their time & efforts more productively on reporting requirements, counterparty, market and liquidity risks, and balance sheet analysis to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and uniformity of the work processes.

While the Risk Control New York Graduate Trainee, will be seated within the Risk Control team, he/she will have the opportunity to rotate across and support other teams in New York.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Support the Risk Control New York team in the timely reporting of risk and revenues,

spread analysis, liquidity risk monitoring, provide assistance to front office in

implementation of new products and/or strategies and review and provide assessment of

corporate clients’ activities, investigate potential risks and assess those risk reporting to

manager timely

· Provide regular information to senior management

· Establish regular contact with other locations

· Communicate and co-ordinate with other risk control relevant departments in the regions

· Respond efficiently to client queries and requests · Miscellaneous responsibilities as required

Experience /Qualifications/Education:

· Bachelor’s degree or similar level qualification;
a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management preferred.

· Should possess a strong mathematical background, with the ability to analyze data, solve problems and apply quantitative reasoning in a practical setting.

· Knowledge and passion for finance industry.

· The above responsibilities require an individual that is eager to learn and extremely self-motivated, has the capacity to work independently and coordinate efforts within and across the risk team.

· Highly motivated and driven to succeed in a challenging environment.

· Excellent interpersonal skills in both the written and verbal form.

· Excellent Excel and Word skills, high level of computer literacy (VBA & SQL preferred).

· Please note that the working hours for this role are 7:00am to 4:00pm and may

occasionally be longer depending on workload as determined by manager.
