Field Mechanic

Purpose Responsible for the field maintenance and repair of company-owned or leased construction equipment and vehicles. Qualifications / Experience At least 4 years of relevant mechanical or equipment repair experience, including work on tools, small engines, trucks, earth moving equipment, cranes, paving equipment, mini excavators, directional drills, etc. Ability to perform welding and minor fabrication. Strong troubleshooting and repair skills across a variety of heavy and light equipment. Excellent attendance is a must. Valid driver’s license is mandatory (CDL preferred). High school diploma or GED required. This is a union-represented position and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Work is performed in shop and construction jobsite environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions and seasonal temperatures. May be exposed to noise, dust, and other typical construction site conditions. Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb while performing job duties. Must be able to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires the ability to observe work activities, equipment, and jobsite conditions, including close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely navigate active construction sites.
