Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Work Flexibility: HybridStryker Medical's Emergency Care business is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Embedded to help develop the next generation of powered ambulance cots and patient handling systems that support first responders and improve patient safety. In this role, you will lead and contribute to the design, development, testing, and integration of embedded software solutions that control electromechanical systems, user interfaces, sensors, and connected device functionality, transforming customer and clinical needs into reliable, innovative products.What You Will DoLead technical team in design and development of components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices.Design and develop embedded software using C++, C, Python, and other relevant languages based on defined requirements and architectureDesign and implement embedded cyber-security within medical devicesConduct and design advanced prototyping, testing, and research to support complex product development and innovation.Develop and design software systems per requirements and architecture defined.Apply advanced problem-solving techniques to identify, evaluate against requirements, and resolve design issues at the component and sub-system level.Translate user needs to design inputs/specifications and produce advanced component and sub-system level designs.Design, code, document, and test software systems aligned with project requirements and architectureLead code reviews for projects/systems as independent reviewer applying design principals, coding standards and best practices.What You Need (Required Qualifications)Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Software Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science or related Engineering field4+ years of related embedded software experienceExperienced in designing, developing, installing, and testing user interface elements, translating creative concepts into functional front-end applications.Strong coding skills in C++, C, and Python, with knowledge of design patterns and principles for building new software components.Knowledgeable in using integrated development environments (IDEs), static/dynamic analysis tools, memory management, code coverage techniques, and Application Lifecycle Management/Traceability tools.
