It just so happens to be the largest social media company in the world.The Cold Cook will prepare menus and cook in our modern, state of the art kitchens. Our ideal candidate is skilled, passionate and works well in a team environment. Our menus change daily and focus on authentic flavors and creative inspiration.**Essential Job Functions*** Sets up salad station every day* Goes over menus as a team and creates an action plan for the day* Responsible for salad prep, composed sandwiches, composed salads, and soups* Creates from scratch dishes, executing proper cooking fundamentals and techniques* Maintains par levels for salad and deli* Tastes food to ensure proper seasoning* Monitors product freshness and rotation using FIFO* Completes the appropriate logs assigned* Adheres to and maintains the highest safety and sanitation standards* Cleans as you go and cleans at the end of the day; must be a team player* Cleans assigned equipment and/or culinary space as assigned by GM Culinary management* May assist the Dishwashers in cleaning dishes, pots, pans, utensils, flatware, etc, as directed* Follows safety and sanitation procedures in accordance to all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and the HACCP Coordinator* Accountable for compliance with all local, state, federal laws and regulations including those relating to food safety* Heavy and repetitive hand and arm motion, standing, walking, bending/twisting and balance* Stands for a minimum of 8 hours a day* Detect workplace hazards, navigate work areas, follow written directions, and safely operate equipment* Lift, push and/or move up to 50lbs* Safely work around hot surfaces, sharp objects and potentially wet and/or slippery floors* Onsite, in-person attendance is an essential function* Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility and an essential function of each employee at GM Culinary**Non-Essential Job Functions*** Responsible for pickling, fermenting and dehydrating all salad add ons* Assists in maintaining an organized walk-in cooler* May be responsible for menu writing and recipe development**Minimum****Qualifications*** Proper knife cuts and safe knife handling skills* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation* Sense of urgency* Excellent communication and customer service skills* Experience working in a fast paced environment* Demonstrate and follow standardized recipes, scale them appropriately and weigh and measure foods utilizing both standard and metric units of measurement* Obtain and maintain an active Food Handlers Card for the duration of employment* Minimum of 2 years experience in a Cook role preferred**Job****Perks****and****Benefits*** Life/Work balance with a set, full-time schedule of Monday through Friday with weekends off* Full medical, vision and dental coverage* $25k life insurance paid by employer* Supplemental life available for employee, spouse, and dependents* 401k with employer match* 12 paid holidays* Earn up to 2 weeks of Paid Time Off a year* Earn up to 1 week of Sick Leave a year* Outstanding scratch made complimentary mealsNothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.GM Culinary believes that diversity and inclusion among our employees is not only critical to our success, but imperative.
