Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) - Urgent Care

Schedule 2 – 10‑hour shifts and 1 – 4‑hour shift per week, Monday‑Friday 7am‑7pm, plus every other weekend 8am‑4pm. Hours Per Week 32 hours. Pay Range $21.85 – $36.15 per hour. Actual compensation: $21.85–$32.80 for an MA and $24.10–$36.15 for an LPN, based on qualifications and experience. Location Aurora Urgent Care, Sturgeon Bay, WI – 1910 Alabama St. This walk‑in clinic offers in‑person care for minor illnesses and injuries, extended hours after hours coverage. We’re Looking For Licensure or Certifications LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse license (state issued). MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification, AHA, required within 45 days unless exempt. BLS for Healthcare Providers, AHA, required within 45 days unless exempt. Degrees GED or high school equivalency. LPN: Accredited or approved Practical Nursing program. MA: Accredited or approved Medical Assistant program, or 2 years of verifiable full‑time MA experience in last 5 years. What You’ll Do Welcome patients and support transition into care. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings. Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures. Administer medications and vaccines as directed. Perform lab‑related tasks including specimen collection and point‑of‑care testing. Document care accurately in the electronic health record. Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high‑quality, coordinated care. Physical Requirements And Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during the workday. Must lift and support up to 35 pounds. Must push/pull with 30 lbs force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures. Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de‑escalation when needed. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be used as needed. Must respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical ability testing may be required.
