Base pay range $23.00/hr - $25.00/hr Connections Personnel is hiring for a Tax Preparer for a long term temporary position for our client located in Springfield, NJ. Looking for a candidate that has experience filing personal and business taxes to join the team. Must be able to work nights/weekends as needed in the busy month of March and April. Collecting all necessary financial records, such as income statements, receipts, and expense documentation. Filling out the appropriate federal and state tax forms (e.g., Form 1040 for individuals, Forms 1120/1120S/1065 for businesses) and submitting them to the relevant tax authorities. Analyzing the client's financial situation to find all eligible adjustments, deductions, and credits to minimize tax liability or maximize refunds. Staying updated on the frequently changing tax laws and regulations to ensure all filings are compliant with current codes and to avoid penalties. Offering strategic recommendations on future financial decisions (e.g., retirement contributions, equipment purchases, business structure) to optimize future tax outcomes. Explaining complex tax concepts in understandable terms and answering client questions throughout the year. Depending on their credentials, the preparer may represent the client before the IRS during an audit or other tax-related disputes. Assisting with maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers throughout the year. Handling payroll tax requirements and filing sales tax returns to ensure compliance with specific business regulations. Advising on the most effective business structure (e.g., sole proprietorship, S corp, partnership) for tax efficiency and liability protection. Calculating and advising on quarterly estimated tax payments to avoid surprises or penalties at year-end. Hours are Monday thru Friday 830am-5pm plus nights and weekends during the tax season. Pay is $23-$25/hr depending on experience.
