Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team. The ER RN will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients in an emergency setting.

Essential Functions

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessment and triage of emergency patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while monitoring patient responses.
• Manage patient flow, ensure timely interventions, and facilitate discharges.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health management and treatment options.
• Participate in team meetings, contributing to policy updates and process improvements.

Shift and Scheduling

The position requires working 12-hour night shifts with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday coverage is expected, with every other weekend and holiday as part of the schedule. There may be rare opportunities to float to other departments based on census and staffing needs.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an emergency room setting.
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC.
• Preferred experience with travel assignments but open to first-time travelers.

Unit Information

• Trauma Level: II, with 21 beds including a fast-track area.
• Average of 50-60 patients treated daily, primarily ESI Level 3, with some Level 4 and rarely Level 1 patients.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-4 based on acuity, with possible 1:1 in critical care situations.
• Availability of security support in-house 24/7.
• Healthcare team includes dedicated physicians, nurses, and support staff.

Additional Information

Orientation will consist of 1-2 shifts in the ER unit. Scrub colors are flexible, allowing team members to wear any color scrubs. Opportunities for professional growth and development are available within the organization.
