About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Underwriting for US Property to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Large Property team, with a mission to bring creativity, tech-enabled efficiency, and robust analytics to the underwriting process. This role is pivotal in underwriting new and renewal business, with a focus on complex property risks. The VP will be responsible for building and maintaining a diverse and profitable book of middle market and corporate property business, developing relationships with brokers, and ensuring that underwriting practices align with the company's strategic objectives. Strong leadership, a proven track record in driving profitable growth, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams are essential. Applicants for the VP, Underwriting role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, a minimum of 10 years in middle market or corporate property underwriting, and a strong broker network within the US commercial property market. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, independent, and capable of making underwriting decisions with minimal supervision. A background in interpreting risk engineering reports, experience with global programs, and a proactive approach to applying new underwriting tools and technologies are also required.
